Is african vilolet a vine?

Nope! They are beautiful flowering plant with thick velvety leaves that you can grow at home. I have about a dozen varieties and have blooms all year long! I love my violets. Check out this link for more info.

Well, I can see why you would see it as a vine; however, the plant's construction is more like a palm, even though it is a different division than palms.

With vines, the plant grows a stem and leaves and flowers extend from the stem with spaces in between.

With African Violets, leaves and flower grow directly from the center, on top of older leaves. As older leaves fall off, it leaves a stem-like core that doesn't support the top well, leaving the core in a vine-like shape.

A notable difference between african violets and vines is that vines grow quickly, whereas it takes many years for an african violet to develop even a noticeable "stem".
