The war is over. Blu-ray won. The next few weeks will determine HD-DVD's fate. No one wants to be left "holding the bag". The HD-DVD camp has already decided to cancel their press conference at this years Consumer Electronics Show because of Warner Bros. announcement, yesterday.
Reply:blu-ray is the winner , hd-dvd just don't know it yet , soon universla pictures and paramount will joing the blue-train
Reply:Well at first I was on the HD DVD bandwagon because initially they had better video encoding. But since Blu-ray no longer uses MPEG-2 and instead uses AVC and VC-1 codecs the picture quality is now matching HD DVD so now it's only a matter of time before either the other remaining studios, Universal and Paramount either jump ship or are forced to do so when HD DVD goes the way of the BETA.
