What is the quickest way to kill a huge poison ivy vine?

the quickest way, completely cover yourself up from head to toe and chop it down. Then pour vinager on the root stalk to keep it from coming back.

when you remove the clothes, immediatlely wash them and yourself and I would personally wear disposable gloves to keep the sap off of you.

for another alternative, check out the fda website about rash, removing the weed and other types on all poison ivy plants and it's relatives.

There is a new round-up on the market called "Round-Up Quik Pro" but it probably cost more than regular roundup The quick pro will show the plants dying with in a day or two but you still should wail to till for 7 days.

2-4 D will also kill poison ivy and that might work in a day or two but it will not kill the roots and will grow back.

You can buy the weed and grass killer sold in Walmart and it's the same thing as Roundup but cheaper.
Reply:Because I am not a patient person I ripped mine right out of the ground from the roots up. There was a lot of it and I got some on me but a couple weeks of itchy skin and years later it never came back! That is the quickest way. There are other ways to do it though so that you don't catch the itch. Your question was the "quickest" way.
Reply:Cut the main stem at soil level and then pull the vine down or leave it to dry up.

Dig up what's left of the stem and try to get every bit, including the root.

See source for more info
Reply:cut it down. when it starts to grow back, spray it with weed killer you can get at home depot and other places that is made for woody plants. you may have to do it a few times. regular weed killer wont do the job.
