Can I snip off my grape vine and grow another plant?

I have both Thomson and concord grape plants and was wondering how to get more independent growing plants.

Right now they are not in bloom. Zone11

Yes, this is best done in early winter. Cut off about 2 feet and put in sandy soil about 6 to 8 inches deep. If your soil is not sandy, add about 50% sand and 50% soil. Do not let the soil dry out. You can get a rooting hormone to dip it in. Most garden centers and sometimes WalMart has this and sold by the name Rootone.
