THEY GROW PROFUSLY and they bloom from early summer to late fall.

I have the Golden and the Red Creepers.

They can grow 12 feet or more in a season. See the photo above .

I cut mine back by 2/3 every fall to keep it contained.
Reply:I used to live in Texas, and they were everywhere. Some folks just let them sit there during the winter; I knew some people who cut them back - it didn't seem to make much difference once they were mature. They bloom for several weeks in the heat in northern Texas; depending on where you are, it may bloom a longer or shorter period of time. I don't know that I really noticed them much in winter, so other than noting that a couple were cut back, I couldn't tell you what they looked like.
Reply:Invasive weed here in SC

Blooms in summer for a couple of months

Grows tens of feet in a season.
Reply:Here are two useful linkes... This is a lovely vine that attracts lots of butterflies but the main "Con" is if you pass around it, you will be covered with ants!... Ants everywhere!... So plant it some place you never walk around and make sure you always watch it from a safe distance...
Reply:Trumpet vine blooms all through summer and into fall if the weather remains warm.

It is a strong grower and will produce several feet of new growth during the season, especially if you top off the main stem.

You can cut it back any time.

What it looks like in winter? Depends where you live. Here in Florida, it retains its leaves.

See source for more information.
Reply:In WI it dies back in winter and regrows in spring so certainly you can cut it back. I don't know what it would look like in a warmer climate. It grows vigorously and covers a lot of territory when it's happy. That may be a reason to cut it back if you're in a more temperate zone. It generally blooms heavily for a month or more, from midsummer, and then more lightly till frost. Invasive but beautiful.
