How do I remove a vine growing next to my foundation.?

I hear there is a systemic chemical or poison that can be painted on the stub which will rot and remove the masive root system. what is the procedure or chemical that I need ?

How do I remove a vine growing next to my foundation.?
If all you have is a stump and no leaves, Round-up won't work. Round-up is a foliar delivered herbicide, so it must have leaves to work, which makes it great for spraying around trees, because it cant hurt the bark.

Being next to the foundation, it may be hard to yank out with a truck, because you don't want to damage anything near the house, plus roots love wrapping around pipes.

Unfortunately, the best thing to do is to dig it up the old fashioned way. It's a lot harder, but its going to be the safest, especially is you want to plant something else there later on.

Good luck.
Reply:Why bother w/chemicals,it will only do harm in your soil. You want to make sure that the soil is not infected because, you might want to plant something different a little later on. I recomend Digging it out vs. chemicals.
Reply:If you spray it with Roundup the plant will die and eventually the root will rot. You can safely plant as soon as the vine is dead (usually a week in 75 degree weather).
