chateau Petrusse from something like 1985,
Reply:If you mean wine rather than vine then

Iin 1985 a bottle of red Bordeaux, Chateau Lafite, from the 1787 vintage was sold by Christies for $160,000. The wine had been owned by US president Thomas Jefferson and has his initials etched on the bottle.

But $225,000 was paid for one wine that wasn't sold. A bottle of Chateau Margaux 1787 (same vintage) which had been offered for sale at $500,000 but not yet sold was accidentally broken. The bottle had been insured and th einsurers paid out $225,000

Did you know? In the mid-'80s, billionaire Malcolm Forbes paid approximately $155,000 at auction for a bottle of wine. The bottle, which was believed to have come from Thomas Jefferson's own collection and dated back to 1787, was then put on display under strong lights and at the wrong angle. These conditions eventually made the cork fall into the bottle, and the wine lost its value and was thrown away.
