Is there a vine that would grow on a rock wall?

We are trying to camoflauge a rock "cliff". I am looking for something that will grow fast. Something that can be planted in the dirt at the bottom but then grow up the rock.

Is there a vine that would grow on a rock wall?
My favorite!

Climbing Hydrangea

(Hydrangea anomala subspecies petiolaris)

60 to 80 feet Glossy foliage and large white flower clusters in summer. Partial shade to full sun. Moist, well-drained soil. Clings.

Reply:most Ivy's will climb a rock some are pretty attractive.
Reply:ivy, but you may regret it because it takes over and spreads like wildfire.

an alternative may be to grow something tall in front of the cliff such as some tall type of grass

Reply:Might try English Ivy

Planted it at base %26amp; top of rock wall.

Not too fast, but looks great
Reply:try a pine based plant called juniper. it generly stays close to the ground and is very thick. just be sure this is what you want because once in and spread very difficult to remove
Reply:Ivy grows fast and everywhere.
