thats an interesting question.. next time there;s a harvest nearby, go and watch . its fascinating to watch. like a soybean combine, there are rows of teeth that pull the pods from the plants, then another set that are designed just right to seperate the pods from the final product the peas. they seperate and a big hopper fills up.. Very cool.
