What is an old vine that has tiny "things" on it that looks like very tiny potatoes? Where can you get one?

I had the plant many years in the 1940's and 1950's as a child in Southern Illinois. It grew on the house and lived through many winters. I have never seen another one. My Mom and Dad may have torn it out when I left for college in 1954.

My friends and I use to pick the tiny potato looking things and display them in jars.

Sounds like "hops" (used in making beer).
Reply:The limited description may be that of a 'cinnamon bush'. If so, the potatos are poisonous so don't let anyone ingest them or they may get very ill. They grow pretty much wild all over central Illinois so if you are near here, look around some back yards maybe...
Reply:could be ipomea, a member of the sweet potato family
