What is a fast growing vine that I can grow in containers?

I would like to create some sort of privacy wall between my and my neighbor's deck but only have the option of using containers. Any suggestions?

Reply:A very common fast growing vine that you can usually find at any gardening store or WalMart, etc. is "vinca vine." It's very hardy, grows rapidly, and fills up a container quickly. It flows over the side of the pot and comes in either green or variegated varieties.



If you live in an area that doesn't get below 0 degrees F for long periods of time during the winter, vinca vine will actually come back for you next spring.

Reply:There are many ivy plants you can grow but for a more unique look you could grow running bamboo in a container to block out unplasent sites. It grows fast but must be contained or it will take over.



Not many people have bamboo and they make great screens. try this for a more unique look!
Reply:My favorite climbing vine is Clematis. Some of the newer varieties grow only 6-8 ft (Ramona, Crystal Fountain, Princess Diana, Arctic Queen) and perfect for container. Go to parkseed.com and search for the pictures.
Reply:Vinca vines grow super fast. They also produce stunning electric purple flowers. Ivys also are good for fast growing and they come in different varietys too. I grow a Vinca vine in my pots at the front, and behind it begonias.
Reply:Let's see.... poison ivy might work.... but I seem to recall there is some sort of drawback to that choice..... Hmmmm
