Jesus said that He is the Vine and we are the branches?

Do we see this matter that we need to abide in the Lord so that He can have a way to abide in us.. that apart from Him we can do nothing? What does this mean to you as a believer in these two aspects.

2 How you relate to and view other branches in the Vine

In the text "without Him we can do nothing 'is an ellipsis.



WE can do lots of things but nothing we do without Him has any spiritual value...

Reply:1) From the moment I awake until I say my last prayer at night, I am meditating on His Word. I have committed many verses to memory so that when I need encouragement or want to be an encouragement to others the scripture I have memorized not only help me, but God can use that scripture to help someone else.

2) I am but one of many, many branches in the Vine, Jesus Christ. When one of the branches is hurting, I hurt for them and ask Him how He can use me to help them. I truly believe in bearing one anothers burdens, because this fulfils the law of Christ! (Gal. 6:2)

2. However, I'm not branching out very well as my parents never read the Bible or do Bible study with me (though they are church-going Christians).

Question 1) If we as Christians do not bear fruit, we will be removed from God's kingdom. We are the branches and the branches cannot live without feeding off the vine which would be the Word of God and prayer. If we don't read the Bible and pray every day, several times a day, we are not going to be nourished as we should and we will eventually fall away (wither up) from God. If we aren't teaching others, we are not bearing fruit for God so it's important that we teach others about salvation so others can also be saved.



Question 2) By going to church regularly and worshipping and working with the Saints, to me it's a way to recharge my batteries. It gives me strength to get through each day and to fight temptation as much as possible and it is wonderful to meet with friends there as we work side-by-side to teach others and share the joy that God has blessed us with.
