How tall does native Pennsylvania honey suckle grow? Does it grow above 20 feet as a vine?

I live in the suburbs of Philly, and I want to grow honeysuckle up a trellis, but I won't do it if I find out it only gets to be like 10 feet high. The old vine we had on the house, and I can't recall what exactly it was, was capable of growing up to 40 feet...Anyone know how tall my honey suckle may get?

Yes it will grow very tall (10-20 feet) if you let it. The most common use is to allow it to grow along a trellis, fence, or other framework, but it can also be grown as a ground cover or used for erosion control.

Reply:I live here in Pa. as well, over by Pgh,,, and if you were to see my back yard,,,, the honey suckle is taking over the grape vines!! It is even killing off the poison ivy!!

Best bet, unless you plan on trimming it AT LEAST once a week, don't plant it!!
