How long from the time you get flowers on a pumpkin vine do you get pumpkins?

I live in southern ohio and have flowers on my vine. Will I have pumpkins by halloween?

It might depend on the variety of pumpkin but when I grew the little pumpkins it was about 6-8 weeks from flowering until I had pumpkins.
Reply:Follow Margie s advice. To increase number of pumkins once you have male and female flowers pick a male flower remove the petals and hand pollinate 2/3 female flowers. Once the female flower petals start to die off the bulb behind it should be starting to grow
Reply:Hopefully a few. Good luck.
Reply:Roughly 3 to 5 months, depending on the variety.

Once you have a couple of female flowers fertilised, remove any others from that one runner. this ensures that they grow to their full potential. You could also shorten the runner to just a few inches past the last fertilised flower, this stops the growth going into the formation of excess leaf and keeps the nutrients for the formation of the fruit.

cheers

Reply:Hi! Jim n Lynn,

Yes you will, keep them watered regularly, but not too much...They are very hardy, so no worries! Just watch them grow into beautiful orange pumpkins! Pumpkins are a great squash with alot of healthy value %26amp; fun during the fall season! Enjoy!
