Any ideas for a fast growing but not overly dense trailing vine?

Looking to cover an unsightly block wall with a vine, fast growing, but not too thick (branches, roots, etc) and may have a fragrance or flowers? Have you found any that you would recommend? Thank you!

the only vine mentioned so far that I think would stand a chance in your climate would be honey suckle....but it can get very very heavy....I am thinking about a trumpet creeper which blooms orange , or Carolina jasmine which blooms yellow and very fragrant.....my favorite vine is the coral vine (Antigone leptopus) which is very drought tolerant. The first hard freeze of autumn kills all the top growth, but established plants return readily. It has striking, lacy pink flowers (remember, our grandmothers always had it growing on fences)
Reply:Depends on your location / zone???

Could you grow a clematis? Or a Honeysuckle?
Reply:one of the best vines i have used is the hydragea vine.it keeps is leaves right to the bottom of the vine and will grow in shady areas.

honey suckle is another vine that has flowers and fragrance.it needs full sun.

clematis has huge flowers, needs full sun,but roots need to be shaded.
Reply:a vining star jasmine and trumpet vine are both very tolerant to warm temperatures and have very nice blooms..

the jasmine smells heavenly when it blooms..
Reply:Have you checked out passion vines. They may be worth the time it takes to do a little investigation. Beautiful and unusual flower.
