On Waterfall Island, when you buy the island, it comes with a vine... until you are able to buy the platform, you can't swing on it... even then you have to click on the vine and wait for the monkey to get to it ... for about a minute! then he swings, and ends up in the water... I can't be sure but this looks like you need to swing and jump to something hidden.
Can anyone confirm this?
In the Tropix game, there is a vine on the waterfall Island, is that for a new hidden part of the game?

i dont think the vine will lead to another island. i think the only islands available are the ones you purchase to travel to.
that would be really cool though... :)
